The process and its limitations

The finished cloth is printed and tested in natural light against the original material sample. This does not guarantee there will be an exact colour and shading match in the installation location. Colour is not inherent in objects. Rather the surface reflects some colours and absorbs all others. The human eye only perceives reflected colours making the environment an integral part of the result. Therefore we cannot guarantee a perfect colour and shade match. However, the majority of colour print results are very close. A step up to improving the colour and shading match can be done with our colour match service, available at additional cost. We cannot print a shiny or gloss finish on any cloth.

1 x linear metre (Includes all machine set-up costs).

Colour Print Service
Dedicated Colour Match Service Dedicated Colour Match Service (DCMC)

Use this facility to get very close colour and shade matching when printing cloth.

Usually used with paint manufacturer and colour standard finishes. (Can also be used with material or paint sample scans on request).

The colour match print features up to 15 (10cm x 10cm) squares with colour and shading variations based around the selected base colour. These variations are numbered. Samples should be test matched in installation location. Chose the closest match and request the colour print service for required amount.

If colour and shading is still not close enough the process can be repeated. Simply chose the nearest base colour and shade match and a new colour match print will be prepared.

Scan Sample Service (SSS)

Use this facility to scan a material sample. Examples would be cloth, wood veneer or paint sample (when paint colour code is not known).

Sample print will be provided on 1.5m x 0.25m cloth.

Cost is inclusive of 1 hour of studio time. Additional studio time is charged at 75.00 per hour + VAT.

We will require written confirmation to charge for additional studio time to get colour and shade match as close as possible. If closer colour match is required we would move to dedicated colour match service pricing. The process and its limitations

To keep costs down material should fit on our flat bed scanner in a single pass. Scanner bed size is 415mm x 295mm. If material is larger we will need to cut it and electronically stitch back together adding time and cost. The image may still need significant manipulation especially if patterned. The pattern has to be duplicated and electronically stitched to make the image larger to cover the required cloth area.
